<p>A method, terminal and communication system for activating compressed mode are disclosed, wherein the method includes: a terminal receiving, from a radio network controller, information of target cells to measure; the terminal, according to the information of target cells to measure, determining transmission gap pattern sequences; the terminal, according to the determined transmission gap pattern sequences, activating compressed mode and performing measurements to the target cells. With the present invention, the problem that compressed mode can not be activated in the case of load balancing mechanism or traffic bearing feature mechanism is solved, and the Quality of Service (QoS) of the terminal as well as the performance of the system are enhanced.</p> |
