PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for suppressing the degradation of power generation efficiency in a power generator using a solid oxide fuel cell.

SOLUTION: A power generator comprises: a reformer 100 which reforms mixed gas of fuel gas and steam into reformed gas; and a solid oxide fuel cell unit 20 which causes the reformed gas to react with oxygen-containing gas so as to generate power. The fuel cell unit 20 includes an off-gas combustion surface 23 which burns off-gas. The reformer 100 is arranged along a surface facing the off-gas combustion surface 23. The reformer 100 includes: a preliminary reforming part 132 and a main reforming part 136 both containing a reforming catalyst; and an intermediate space 134 which is arranged between the preliminary reforming part 132 and the main reforming part 136, and which does not contain the reforming catalyst.
