PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous metal complex having enough gas occlusion capacity to gas such as hydrogen, methane or carbon dioxide, which is a porous metal complex containing trivalent metal ion; a method for producing the metal complex; a gas storage method using the porous metal complex; and a gas separation method.

SOLUTION: This porous metal complex includes a metal complex constituted of a coordinate bond of a trivalent metal ion with an aromatic tricarboxylic acid represented by formula (1), and has a pore structure formed by gathering a plurality of the metal complexes together. [In the formula (1), n represents an integer of 0-4].
