<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating container preventing a lid from being opened by a person other than a specific person concerned, and preventing leakage of contents of matters noted on a document in a pocket. <P>SOLUTION: In the heat insulating container including a heat insulating container body 1, and an open/close lid portion 3 connected with an upper end of a rear wall portion 12 of the body to open/close an upper end opening 2 of the container body, the container body has the document holding pocket 4 with an inlet/outlet port 41 formed in its upper end, and a first fastening strap 50 fixed to the upper end of the pocket at one end, on an outer surface of a front wall portion 11 of a cylindrical body 10. The open/close lit portion includes a flap 31 connected to its leading end, and a second fastening strap 51 fixed to a leading end of the flap at one end to be superposed on the fastening strap when lid-closing. The both fastening straps include first and second holes 52, 53 in corresponding parts.
