<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which can suppress loosening of winding or buckling of a wound electrode body by suppressing deformation toward an inner side (center side) of the wound electrode body. <P>SOLUTION: A battery 1 comprises a wound electrode body 40 formed by cylindrically winding a positive electrode plate 10, a negative electrode plate 20 and separators (a first separator 31 and a second separator 35). The wound electrode body 40 has a separator wound part 30 which is formed by only winding a plurality of turns of separators (the first separator 31 and the second separator 35), among the positive electrode plate 10, the negative electrode plate 20 and the separators, from a winding start position SP located on the innermost side of the wound electrode body 40.
