<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve ESR measurement sensitivity and operability, to recognize a frequency dependence of an output of a YIG sweep oscillator for frequency sweep and a frequency dependence of an amplification degree of a wideband amplifier relating to the output of the YIG sweep oscillator, and to recognize a quantitative measurement capability of ESR measurement intensity. <P>SOLUTION: In an electromagnetic horn type electron spin resonance (ESR) device comprising a microwave oscillator, an electromagnetic horn device, sweep magnetic field impressing device and a microprocessing circuit, a three-dimensional ESR imaging apparatus is arranged at a part where a sample is disposed, in which two sets of 2-current-source Zupancic type magnetic field gradient coils or Anderson coils are arranged which generate magnetic field gradients in a vertical direction Y and a horizontal direction X of a cross section on an outer wall surface of a cylindrical body whose axial center is placed on a microwave emission center line of an electromagnetic horn and inside a cavity part of which a sample capsule loading/unloading device can be loaded and unloaded, and an anti-Helmholtz magnetic field gradient coil is arranged which generates the magnetic field gradient in a direction Z (the axial direction of the cylinder) vertical to the 2-current-source Zupancic type magnetic field gradient coils or Anderson coils.
