<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for inspecting a glass fiber bundle that can be applied to extra fine glass fiber monofilament used as a raw material of recent high-density printed wiring boards and having a diameter larger than 3 μm and equal to or less than 7 μm. <P>SOLUTION: An inspection device 100 for a glass fiber bundle X formed by bundling a plurality of monofilaments includes: irradiating means 1 for irradiating inspection light to a glass fiber bundle X in the process of formation; measurement means 2 for linearly measuring a brightness level of a surface of the glass fiber bundle X; extraction means 4 for extracting a monofilament discharged from the glass fiber bundle X based on the measured brightness level; image processing means 5 for converting an extraction result into a brightness level image of 256 gradations and binarizing the image; and determination means 6 for determining, on the binarized image, a fault in the monofilament if an amount of discharged monofilament is a predetermined threshold or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
