The present invention relates to an image processing device and method capable of improving convenience of a codestream in which multi-view images have been encoded. A progression determination unit (183) determines the progression structure of a codestream after integration on the basis of analysis results of the progression structure for the codestream (112) of each input view or a specification of a progression structure which has been externally supplied. An integration unit (184), on the basis of the determination, integrates each codestream so as to have the progression structure. A progression information generation unit (185) generates progression information for the codestream (194) after integration, and embeds the information into a predetermined location. The present invention can, for example, be applied to an image processing device. |
