FLAME RETARDANT FOAM POLYSTYRENE BEAD AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

The flame retardant foam polystyrene bead according to the present invention comprises: (A) a mixed resin including (a1) about 90 to 99 wt % of styrene resin and (a2) about 1 to 10 wt % of char-generating thermoplastic resin; (B) inorganic foam particles dispersed in the mixed resin; and (C) a foaming agent with which the mixed resin with the dispersed inorganic foam particles is impregnated. The foam produced using the flame retardant foam polystyrene bead has good flame retardancy, insulation, and mechanical strength properties.
