The system comprises the switching elements which are arranged between the energy input and the glow plugs that are arranged in multiple cylinders of diesel combustion engine. Multiple glow plugs-control devices are provided for controlling the supply of current to the glow plugs. A route is provided for connecting the engine control device for controlling the command signal course. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling the supply of current.
