The sensing surface element (1) comprises a flexible layer material (2), multiple touch-sensitive sensors (4i), which have an electrical measuring characteristic and release a sensor-signal (X-i) by pressurization, and a control unit (20) for receiving the sensor-signals. The electrical measuring characteristic of the sensors do not change linearly proportional with the impinged surface by pressurization. The control unit detects a pressure signal or force signal from the individual sensor-signals. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining a surface element.
