<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a misfire during deceleration in an internal combustion engine for performing low pressure loop EGR. <P>SOLUTION: A low pressure loop EGR passage for communicating between the downstream of a turbine of an exhaust gas turbocharger in an exhaust system and the upstream of a compressor of the exhaust gas turbocharger in an intake system is formed. Further, for controlling the internal combustion engine provided with an intake throttle valve on the upstream of an outlet of the low pressure loop EGR passage communicated with the intake system, the intake throttle valve is forcibly throttled temporarily to a predetermined opening when the deceleration is determined, and the intake throttle valve is maintained to be in the opened state until an engine torque decreases. Thereby, a disturbance of a pressure at a periphery of an outlet of the low pressure loop EGR passage during a deceleration transient is prevented and a variation of an amount of EGR gas flowing through the low pressure loop EGR passage is restrained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
