<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a framework which is helpful for a user to understand individual messages in an appropriate context by displaying together a plurality of messages transmitted by two or more different persons. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method and system for processing a message including a step of receiving a plurality of messages sent to a user. Each of the plurality of messages may be associated with individual conversations, and the each conversation has an individual conversation identifier. Furthermore, the each conversation includes a set of one or more messages sharing a set of common characteristics satisfying a first preliminarily defined reference. A conversation list is displayed in an order determined based on a second preliminarily defined reference as a set of lines, and the each line corresponds to one of listed conversations, and includes at least a sender list, conversation topic, and date/time value.
