The device has a pointing instrument (1) i.e. stylus, standing in an active connection with an electronic device to provide an input based on determination of absolute position of the instrument. The instrument comprises a gripper element (2) and a ball portion (3) that is unreeled at a surface based on the input. The instrument is moved by a force that is brought by an unreeling ball portion to convey a haptic feedback of the instrument through a digitizing tablet (4) acting on the ball portion. The tablet is controlled by a CPU of the electronic device to be operated.
