A connector has a connecting head, typically to connect to a tap and annular inner and outer portions extending from the connecting head. Resilient tube, typically as garden hose, is pushed in the direction shown into an entry passage having width less than that of the tube wall thickness. One of the annular portions is of helical construction so that there is relative movement between portions allowing entry. However, when the tube is pulled in an opposite direction to that shown the portions bear further on the tube to restrict its removal from the connector.
