The ventilation insert (1) has an absorber arranged on an air-permeable layer that swells during contact with water, and another air-permeable layer. Covers (5, 6) are provided above the air-permeable layers, and carrier layers are provided on the covers. The covers and/or the carrier layers compress the air-permeable layers in partial areas and form a chamber structure. Maximum expansion of the absorber is limited by chambers (8) for compressing the absorber during the swelling process, which closes the insert. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a ventilation insert. |
