An Out-of-Office function for an email system is provided, in which a receiver's email system sends an Out-of-Office reply message in response to receiving a first email message from a sender, the Out-of-Office reply message includes a message identifier for the first email message and an object (e.g. HTML buttons that map to URIs) including an object identifier. The object identifiers may be associated with corresponding actions, such as delete , forward to personal email address , or mark as unimportant . The sender may then select the object, which in turn sends a second email message (e.g. web services request or remote procedure call) to the receiver including the message identifier and the object identifier. The receiver's email system may then carry out an action associated with that object identifier. |
