PURPOSE: A portable terminal and control method thereof are provided to control the detail operation of a portable terminal by tilting the portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit(140) acquires the tilt state of a portable terminal. A control unit(180) displays information through a display module. The control unit receives a control signal according to specific key manipulation by using a user input unit. The control unit controls the display of the information based on the tilt state acquired by the sensing unit. The control unit controls the scroll operation of the information based on the tilt state acquired by the sensing unit.
