394,240. Ball-and-roller bearings. KUYLENSTIERNA, J. K., 55, Sibyllegatan, Stockholm. Dec. 6, 1932, No. 34557. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1931. [Class 12 (i).] Divided race-rings for ball- or roller-bearings, such as those described in Specification 258,809, [Class 12 (i), Bearings &c.], each ring-member h comprising more than a semicircle, are assembled on shafts or crank-pins, by providing grooves c in the shafts n and corresponding flats d on the ring-members. The ring is then turned so that its joints do not overlie the grooves c. In a modification, Fig. 13, the ring-members are not bored out completely circular, but have flats f over their whole length engaging corresponding flats on the shaft to give a positive connection. The rings are secured on their shafts either by rings l, Fig. 11, shrunk on flanges i adjacent the rollers o, or by screwclamped divided rings s, Fig. 13. The outer races g are divided and secured together in a similar manner. The joint between the ring- members is a tongue-and-groove one, as shown at a, b, Fig. 1.
|
