A hermetically sealed insulating apparatus has: a high voltage conductor (1) which extends in the axis direction; a metal container (3) which covers the high voltage conductor (1), while keeping a space between the high voltage conductor (1) and the metal container (3), and has the space filled with an insulating gas (2); and a spacer (4), which is fixed such that the spacer is sandwiched between the end portion flange sections (3a) on the outer circumferential side, supports the high voltage conductor (1) on the inner circumferential side and is provided with an insulating member (4a). A nonlinear resistance film (13), wherein a nonlinear resistance material provided with a characteristic of having a lower resistance value as the current density increases is filled with a filling material having a dielectric constant different from that of the nonlinear resistance material, is arranged on the inner surface of the metal container (3).
