#CMT# #/CMT# The rod has a piston rod lug (2) with a bore hole (3) for a piston pin, where the piston rod lug and the bore hole are heat treated, and a rotation-symmetrical heat treated zone (3`) does not extend up to a periphery (3``) of the bore hole. The heat treated zone is spaced apart from the periphery of the bore hole between 0.1 and 7 millimeters. The rod is composed of steel material that has carbon content between 0.3 to 0.8 percentages. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for a stroke piston internal combustion engine (claimed) for transmission of piston force and movement to a crank shaft. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The piston rod increases life span and operating reliability of a piston pin support, thus reducing installation size in an area of the piston rod and hence reducing oscillating crankshaft drive mass and increasing running smoothness of the engine. The piston rod allows cost-effective rework possibility of a side surface of a head of the piston rod due to steel material in the zone and provides minimal grinding stock in the bore hole. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a section of a trapeze piston rod with a rotation-symmetrical heat treated zone. 1 : Piston rod 2 : Piston rod lug 3 : Bore hole 3` : Heat treated zone 3`` : Bore hole periphery.
|
