The mold (101) has a die and a core formed in form-fit manner. The core or die is formed by a core shell (109) or die shell (122) defining a cavity on a lower face (109b) of core shell or upper face (122b) of die shell opposite to an upper face (109a) of core shell or lower face (122a) of die shell. The cavity is closed by a core plate (105) or a die plate (119) carrying one of cleats (107, 120) whose end is supported against the core or die shell. The cleat absorbs compression forces created during molding. Ejectors (113) pass through the core plate and the core shell. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a mold.
