398,773. Liquid-distributers. HOPWOOD, J., Rose Cottage, Fulford, and UTLEY, G., 67, Irwin Avenue, both in York. May 2, 1933, No. 12752. [Classes 69 (i) and 69 (iii).] A distributer for sewage &c. more particularly applicable to rotary sprinklers but applicable also for the intermittent discharge of stationary tanks comprises a tubular column b, Figs. 1 and 2, delivering liquid through down cast pipes k into a tank h having a siphon n for intermittently discharging the tank to distributing pipe m. The siphon is formed as a box having a partition o provided with an adjustable weir plate p. An air-lock is provided in the upper part of the column b to diminish or stop the flow of water into the tank. This comprises a pipe q connected to the pipe h and supporting an air dome s and a U-tube t, the height of each being variable. Liquid rising in the column h flows through pipes k into tank h, escape to the pipes m being prevented until a sufficient level is reached to start the siphon n. At the same time air is compressed in the bell s and stops the flow into the tank until the level has fallen sufficiently for the pressure in the pipe h to blow the liquid seal in the U-tube t when liquid will again flow into the tank h.
|
