Method for controlling an interactive display

The method involves detecting gesture of a person (5) at a platform (1) of a metro station by a three-dimensional (3D) camera system (7), and controlling an interactive display (4) i.e. LCD panel, based on the gesture. Distance (d) of the person is detected by the camera system, and interruption of the control of the display takes place when the distance falls below a minimum distance and exceeds a maximum distance. A warning message is shown or acoustically output when the distance falls below the minimum distance. Movement speed of the person is detected.
