A curtain airbag system in which control of developing direction is facilitated such that interference/aggressiveness of the curtain airbag around the garnish (GN) is eliminated, and other portions of the curtain airbag are developed appropriately along the window pane of a side door. An airbag (10) stored in the roof side rail section has a gas supply passage (20) extending upward in the longitudinal direction, and a plurality of cells (C<SUB>1</SUB>, C<SUB>2</SUB>) into which expansion gas is introduced downward from the gas supply passage (20). The airbag (10) is once folded back to the outer side of a car and then roll-folded to the inner side of the car, and, under that state, the upper edge portion thereof is secured to the roof side rail section. Furthermore, the slot sections (S<SUB>1</SUB>, S<SUB>2</SUB>) for introducing the expansion gas from the gas supply passage (20) to each cell (C<SUB>1</SUB>, C<SUB>2</SUB>) have a substantially inverted triangular shape widened upward and constricted downward. |
