PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to improve cooling efficiency by efficiently using the cold and heat energy of frost attached on an evaporator. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a main body, a cooling cycle, a refrigerant flow control unit, a blowing unit, and first and second air volume control units. The main body has refrigerator and freezer compartments. A compressor, a heat emitting unit, a decompression unit, and a cooling unit are connected to the cooling cycle. The refrigerant flow control unit is installed between the heat emitting and cooling units and controls the flow rate of refrigerants. The first air volume control unit controls the volume of air flowing into the refrigerator compartment and the second air volume control unit controls the volume of air flowing into the freezer compartment.
