PURPOSE: An insulation board arrangement structure and method of a liquefied natural gas tank are provided to form a cargo loading space or a space between inner and outer hulls by reflecting the shape of a barrier or inner hull depending on the thickness change of an insulation board. CONSTITUTION: An insulation board arrangement structure of a liquefied natural gas tank(100) comprises an insulation surface, first and second insulation boards(120,140), and a barrier(130). The insulation surface is formed as a reinforced area and a general area depending on the degree of sloshing impact of the tank. The first insulation board is arranged on the general area. The second insulation board has a thickness increased than the thickness of the first insulation board. The second insulation board is arranged on the reinforced area. The barrier has height difference corresponding to the thickness change of the neighboring part of the first and second insulation boards.
