A method for predicting the risk of cerebral vascular accident upon transitory ischemic attacks of varying pathogenesis comprises the assessment of the age, arterial blood pressure, the presence of the cerebral ischemic focus in the corresponding vascular basin according to neurovisualization. In addition, the prognostic factors that are most important for each pathogenetic subtype of ischemic attacks are assessed: the increase in the thickness of intima complex in the common carotid artery – for atherothrombotic cerebral vascular accident; paroxysmal form of atrial fibrillation – for cardioembolic subtype, and the maximal linear blood flow rate in the vertebral arteries on the affected side – for undetermined subtype. The scores are summed, and the risk of the cerebral vascular accident, high, medium or low may be predicted. |
