PURPOSE: A method for transforming fibrous asbestos into cubical calcium carbonate is provided to completely eliminate the fibrous crystalline form of asbestos by reacting tremolite with carbon dioxide gas to be crystallized into calcium carbonate. CONSTITUTION: A method for transforming fibrous asbestos into cubical calcium carbonate includes the following: An alkali solution is added into ground tremolite powder to obtain a mixture. Carbon dioxide is introduced to the mixture. The mixture is carbonated under the carbon dioxide to obtain slurry. Crystallized calcium carbonate is obtained from the slurry. The particle size of the tremolite powder is lower than or equal to 30um. The pH value of the alkali solution is between 10 and 14.
