The vehicle has an on-board charger (4) connected to an external power supply network to charge a battery (2) for powering an electric traction machine. A coolant circuit (41) is connected to the on-board charger to cool the charger, is connected to the battery to cool or heat the battery, and is independent from heat exchange circuits of the vehicle for cooling a heat engine, the traction machine, or for heating a passenger compartment. A heat exchanger (10) comprises a propellant (12) which deducts air stream in the passenger compartment to cool the compartment. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a thermal conditioning system of a battery.
