A CPU (#0) executes a first process. During execution of the first process, the CPU (#0) communicates, by means of a notification unit (202), a request to execute a second process and the amount of time remaining until the estimated time for completion of the first process. A CPU (#1) acquires, by means of an acquisition unit (203), the request to execute the second process and the amount of time remaining until the estimated time for completion of the first process. The CPU (#1) executes the second process, and after the first process estimated completion time, which is obtained by adding the amount of time remaining to the time at which the second process began, communicates the result of the second process to the CPU (#0) by means of a notification unit (206).
