<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light-emitting device with polarization. <P>SOLUTION: In a semiconductor light-emitting element, including a semiconductor structure, where a first conductivity-type semiconductor layer 44, an active layer 46, and a second conductivity-type semiconductor layer 48 are laminated, a semiconductor light-emitting element 40 includes a plurality of light guide sections G, formed by a plurality of groove regions arranged along a fixed direction so that the semiconductor structure has enough depth from the second conductivity-type semiconductor layer, at least up to the active layer.
