<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the play in a time reduction mode more interesting in a game machine in which a special symbol 2 game based on entrance into an electric tulip is consumed in preference to a special symbol 1 game based on entrance into a navel, and in which the probability of the play becoming advantageous to a player is higher in special symbol winning with a special symbol 2 than in special symbol winning with a special symbol 1. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of rounds of a game in the time reduction mode can be played. If the time reduction mode is selected as a result of a lottery by a time reduction mode selection lottery means during the play in the time reduction mode, the time reduction mode is changed to a super time reduction mode in which the variation time for the special symbol 2 is shorter than the variation time for normal symbols without changing the game state for normal symbols (including the probability for normal symbols and the variation time for normal symbols). As a result, a possibility of the game related to the special symbol 1 being started is generated after consumption of a plurality of rounds of the game related to the special symbol 2 within the game time for one round of a normal symbol game, and therefore, a risk of reduction of profits for the player in special symbol winning is increased. Further, the variation time for the special symbol 1 may be reduced.
