The device has two elongated chamber filling elements (2, 2') fastened in rail chambers of rails. The filling elements include a custom shape adapted to a rail contour at one or more regions in an assembled state during which an end surface (9) of one of the filling elements is aligned with respect to an end surface (10) of the other filling element. A two-layered adhesive element e.g. butyl adhesive, is arranged between the end surfaces of the filling elements in the assembled state. The adhesive element comprises a carrier element (11) and adhesive layers (12, 13). An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening elongated chamber filling elements at rails.
