PURPOSE: A primer used for PCR amplification of gene for hepatitis B virus is provided to ensure high sensitivity and specificity. CONSTITUTION: A primer for amplifying gene of hepatitis B virus contains an oligonucleotide having bases of sequence numbers 1-4. A method for genotyping for human hepatitis type B comprises: a step of isolating DNA from serum or blood; and a step of performing real time PCR using the primer. A kit for genotyping of human hepatitis B virus contains a reagent for isolating DNA and the primer.
