PURPOSE: A leakage preventing device of a pipe joint and a construction method thereof are provided to prevent leaking to the outside by fixing a first rubber packing in an extended part between a separable pressing wheel member and a leakage preventing member. CONSTITUTION: A leakage preventing device of a pipe joint comprises a leakage preventing member and a separable pressing wheel member(200). The leakage preventing member comprises body units(110,120), an extended part(130), and a coupling part. The extended part is communicated with inside the body units and extended to both ends. Also, it is adhered along the outer circumference of first and second pipes(20). The coupling part is extended along linear periphery of the body units and extended part and coupled to each other. The extended part has a cut part(131) and a stopping sill(132). A first rubber packing is inserted into interior of the cut part and between the first and second pipes. The stopping sill is contacted with head of bolts(50) to limit progress of the bolt. A second rubber packing is arranged between coupling parts. The separable pressing wheel member surrounds exterior of the end of the extended part. To prevent separation of the bolt head, the separable pressing wheel member is coupled with the bolts and nuts(70) and it presses the first rubber packing toward the extended part.
