LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE AND LUMINAIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device and a luminaire, which are advantageous in handling and in which irradiation of light can be uniformed on the whole.

SOLUTION: The light-emitting device 1 includes: a substrate 2 shaped in a substantially rectangular form and having a size of 250-300 mm lengthwise; rows of light-emitting elements 3 arrayed on the substrate 2 in a direction orthogonal to a longer direction, and mounted so that in the rows, the separation dimension of adjacent rows is set to be 12-18 mm; and an encapsulating resin 4 for covering the light-emitting elements 3 arrayed in the direction orthogonal to the longer direction.
