<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology having an excellent light-shielding property without depending on a visual angle, and enabling a user to visually recognize a three-dimensional image in a good condition in which crosstalk is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The three-dimensional image recognition device comprises a pair of first and second shutter elements (S1 and S2), and a driving portion selectively actuating the S1 and the S2 according to switching of a right-eye image and a left-eye image. The S1 and the S2 have a first deflecting plate 13 and a second deflecting plate 17 disposed so as to make respective absorbing shafts generally orthogonal to each other, a liquid crystal layer in which liquid crystal molecules are generally vertically oriented when voltage is not applied, a liquid crystal element 15 disposed between the 13 and the 17, and a first optical compensation plate 14 having negative biaxial optical anisotropy and disposed between the 13 and the liquid crystal element. The liquid crystal element is disposed so as to make an orienting direction of the liquid crystal molecules in a generally center in a layer thickness direction of the liquid crystal layer have an angle of approximately 45 degrees to the respective absorbing shafts of the 13 and the 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
