<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element, such as a dye-sensitized solar cell, which has a wide selection range to choose additive for the electrolyte layer and can obtain better characteristics than the case when 4-tert-butyl pyridine is used as additive. <P>SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element comprises an electrolyte layer 7 filled between a porous photoelectrode 3 and a counter electrode 6, both of which are formed on a transparent substrate 1. An additive of 6.04≤pK<SB POS="POST">a</SB>≤7.3 is added to the electrolyte layer 7 and/or an additive of 6.04≤pK<SB POS="POST">a</SB>≤7.3 is adsorbed in the surface of at least one of the porous photoelectrode 3 and the counter electrode 6, both of which faces the electrolyte layer 7. A pyridine-based additive or a heterocycle-containing additive is used as the additive. If the electrolyte layer 7 comprises an electrolytic solution, a solvent with a molecular weight of 47.36 or more is used therefor. In the case of a dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element, a photosensitizing dye is bonded to the surface of the porous photoelectrode 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
