<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a liquid crystal display apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: According to the embodiment of the present invention, the liquid crystal display apparatus includes: a liquid crystal panel unit 12 formed by overlaying a plurality of liquid crystal panels 10 and 11, the liquid crystal panels 10 and 11 being configured to block transmission of light when activating and to allow transmission of light when being quiescent; an activating circuit 14 for selectively activating the plurality of liquid crystal panels 10 and 11; a backlight section 13 disposed on the back of the plurality of liquid crystal panels and configured to emit light passing through the surface of the plurality of liquid crystal panels. The activating circuit 14 has a switching mechanism 15 for performing control such that when one of the plurality of liquid crystal panels is activating, the other liquid crystal panel is quiescent, thereby temporally replacing an activating liquid crystal panel with a quiescent liquid crystal panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
