<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material enabling a sufficient discharge capacity, an electrode therewith, a lithium secondary battery with the electrode, and a manufacturing method of the active material. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of an active material comprises a step of preparing a mixture containing a lithium source, a source of vanadium with a valence of 5, a phosphate source, water, and a tartaric acid; and a hydrothermal synthesis step in which LiVOPO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>is obtained by heating the mixture to 200°C or higher while pressurizing. The concentration of the tartaric acid contained in the mixture is in the range of 0.5 to 2.0 mol/L and the ratio of the number of moles of the tartaric acid to the number of moles of vanadium atoms contained in the source of vanadium with a valence of 5 is in the range of 10 to 150 mol%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
