<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the conventional auxiliary servo pattern (dedicated pattern for head-positioning at the SSW beginning position) unnecessary when the head-positioning is performed with respect to the intermediate pattern for self servo writing (SSW) such as multi-spiral pattern etc. <P>SOLUTION: A SSW clock generating part for generating SSW sequentially changes modulation gate distances corresponding to a SSW intermediate pattern 55 to adapt to rotational synchronizing components, thereby grasping a spiral regeneration wave shape until the on-track performance is normally completed by an on-track position which performs on-track of an electromagnetic conversion element on the SSW intermediate pattern 55 of a recording medium 14 which serves as a SSW beginning position after generation of a SSW clock. As a result, it makes possible that for the recording medium 14 no conventional auxiliary servo pattern is needed at the time of head-positioning with respect to the SSW intermediate pattern 55 such as a multi spiral pattern etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
