<p>Provided is an edge-light type lighting device that can prevent or mitigate irregularities in the luminance of a display surface, even when a positioning structure for a light guide plate is present. The backlight device (24) is equipped with: a light guide plate (20) provided with light entrance surfaces (20a) on the side surfaces thereof, a light-emitting surface (20b) on the top surface thereof, an opposite surface (20c) on the back surface thereof, and cutout parts (38) at the outer edges thereof; LED units (32) facing the light entrance surfaces (20a) of the light guide plate (20); a reflective sheet (26) disposed at the opposite surface (20c) side of the light guide plate (20); a bottom plate (22a); a backlight chassis (22) having side plates (22b, 22c); and positioning pins (40) that are provided to the backlight chassis (22) and position the light guide plate (20) by engaging with the cutout parts (38). The positioning pins (40) and the cutout parts (38) engage, and parts of the reflective sheet (26) are bent in positions that align with the cutout parts (38), so that the parts of the exposed pins (40) on the opposite side from the side plates (22b, 22c) are covered.</p> |
