摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection device arranged so that a current path can be cut off quickly and reliably by taking advantage of a corrosion phenomenon of fused solder. <P>SOLUTION: The protection device comprises: electrodes 114; a solder paste 116; and a resistor 103. Each electrode is formed by a first conductive layer 112 stacked on a substrate 111 and second conductive layers 113 stacked on the substrate 111 with the first conductive layer 112 stacked thereon and spaced apart from each other in a surface direction of the substrate. The solder paste 116 has a higher wettability with the electrodes 114 in comparison to that of the substrate 111, and stacked on the substrate 111 with the first and second conductive layers 112 and 113 stacked thereon. The solder paste 116 is fused by at least one of the heat generated by the resistor 103, and the heat generated by a lamination part including the electrodes 114 and the solder paste 116. In this situation, the solder paste is attracted toward the electrodes 114 that is higher in wettability with the solder paste in comparison to the substrate 111 while corroding part of the first conductive layer 112 lying between the electrodes 114, and then results in blowout. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
