PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data compression device capable of high-speed compression, and a data restoration device capable of high-speed restoration of this compressed data.

SOLUTION: The data compression device for compressing a plurality of pieces of image data arrayed in time series comprises: difference calculation means for calculating the difference of pixel values at the same position of pieces of image data adjacent on the time series; storage means for storing the piece of image data at a predetermined time of the plurality of pieces of image data and the difference of the respective pixel values; and compression means for generating compressed data on the basis of the difference of the pixel values between the pieces of image data and the piece of image data at a predetermined time of the plurality of pieces of image data.
