<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce current consumption in power failure using a backup power supply as much as possible, to lengthen life of the backup power supply, and to store required control data even in the power failure in an electric rice cooker. <P>SOLUTION: The electric rice cooker includes: an inner pot; inner pot heating means of heating the inner pot; rice cooker control means including a microcomputer incorporating a first rewritable memory; and the backup power supply in power failure. In the electric rice cooker, a second memory eliminating the need of the backup power supply is provided in the rice cooker control means, data to be stored in power failure are stored in each of a first memory and a second memory, and only the first memory of the rice cooker control means is backed up in the backup power supply, thus storing the required control data in power failure, also reducing current consumption of the backup power supply in the power failure as much as possible, and hence lengthening life of the backup power supply. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
