<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking environment simulator that allows a subject to easily experience crossing of a driveway virtually and recognize danger. <P>SOLUTION: The walking environment simulator allows a subject to virtually experience crossing of a driveway using a virtual traffic environment created with computer graphics. The walking environment simulator comprises; distance measurement means 20 for measuring the walking distance of a subject M; head measurement means 30 for measuring the movement of the head of the subject; and a computer 40 connected to the distance measurement means 20 and the head measurement means 30. The computer 40 determines the driveway crossing situation for the subject M based on the walking distance and the head movement of the subject M, and the virtual traffic environment. Determination items includes a right and left checking action before crossing a driveway, a left checking action on the center line of a driveway, contact and approach conditions of a car on the front side lane, and contact and approach conditions of a car on the back side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
