<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passage ticket issuance system and a passage ticket issuance apparatus capable of issuing a passage ticket from an issuance port at an optimum height by measuring vehicle height with a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: Vehicle detectors a and b, which are provided at a toll gate of a toll road in a proceeding direction of vehicles, detect a vehicle, and the speed of the vehicle is calculated based on the detected vehicle information. Based on the speed of the vehicle, vehicle height detection timing is set to detect the vehicle height Hc at a level of driver seat of the vehicle. At a point when a front end of the vehicle reaches the vehicle detector b, the vehicle height Hc is measured at the set timing of vehicle height detection. One of the ticket discharge ports 15a and 15b is set for the passage ticket based on the measured vehicle height information.
