PURPOSE: A DC power supply apparatus is provided to miniaturize and greatly reduce the number of components by including a power factor correction function with a DC-DC converter of a constant current control method. CONSTITUTION: A rectifier wave-rectifies an AC voltage and changes into a direct current voltage. A step down converter supplies a step-downed voltage direct current voltage to a load. A current detection unit detects a current flowing in a reactor. A critical current detection unit detects when a regenerative current, flowing in the reactor, becomes zero. A triangle wave generating unit resets a voltage signal to be zero when the regenerative current, flowing in the reactor, becomes zero. A gate signal output unit turns on a switching element when the regenerative current becomes zero. The current detection unit detects the current flowing in the reactor with the switching element and current sensing resistance.
