<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a setting margin of drive voltage by arranging a setting range of drive voltage by the cumulative lighting time difference with respect to a discharge cell and also to stably generate a write operation while omitting a forced initialization operation. <P>SOLUTION: In a driving method of a plasma display panel, one field comprises a plurality of subfields having a write period to generate a write discharge, a sustain period to generate a sustain discharge by alternately applying a sustain pulse corresponding to a luminance weight to a scan electrode and a sustain electrode, and an erase period to generate an erase discharge by applying a predetermined voltage to the scan electrode and the sustain electrode. In the erase period, the erase discharge is selectively generated only in a discharge cell where the write discharge has been generated in the immediately preceding write period. In the sustain period of at least one subfield, a voltage is applied to the data electrode and the timing of finishing the application of the voltage is changed depending on the cumulative lighting time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
